Buffy lasted for about 7 seasons before leaving the show. She wasn’t happy with the writing for the last two seasons. Buffy did spin off the show Angel starring David Boreanz now starring in the Fox hit TV show, Bones. She had said at the time she was not interested in playing Buffy for a feature film but has said recently she would be open to one if the script was good.
Sarah went on to a great film career, she has appeared in many movies including Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo two, Simple Irrestible, Cruel Intentions, Harvard Man, that film did not do too well but Sarah won raves for her performance. Sarah starred in the hit movie The Grudge and has a small role in the sequel.
Doing the Grudge had some unexpected controversy for Sarah, when the film came out David Wirtschafter, the President of the William Morris Agency that represents Sarah told the magazine The New Yorker that the great reviews Sarah received for the Grudge “took our client Sarah Michelle Gellar who is now nothing at all and makes her a star”, Sarah upon hearing about that comment terminated her contract with that agency.
